Thousands of people put the “public” in public broadcasting by volunteering their time, talents and energy to Connecticut’s Public Broadcasting Network (including CPTV and WNPR).
We pride ourselves on being the bridge of connection between you and your community. As a CPBN ambassador, you may participate in behind the scenes activities, programming, and VIP meetings. We are continually in need of help around our building and the state. CPBN is looking for motivated people with a love of our stations to assist us in our annual events.
Pledge Drives happen at various times throughout the year. As you listen or watch members of our staff and occasionally famous guests, you may wonder how you can do more. We love all donations and donating your time is one of them. For each pledge drive, CPBN needs a few friendly volunteers behind the scenes, working as hosts to guests by making coffee, setting up food, and answering questions.
We are also looking for those who want to be on our channels. Volunteers can answer telephones and take pledges on camera when CPBN viewers call in their membership support for CPTV and WNPR. Don’t worry, we will train you and make sure you have all of the information you’ll need to answer our audience’s inquiries.
These don’t happen often, but when they do it’s all hands on deck! Things like Colin McEnroe’s Anniversary or a taping of a concert performance like Infinity Hall Live or even a project like Words to Give By need excessive help!
CPBN frequently updates our list of special events. If there is one in particular, or just a general interest in this type of volunteering we would love your help! Whether you greet our guests, hand out information, or take tickets you will play a crucial role in the event’s success.
Extra hands are always needed to support Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc.’s daily operations. Spread the word about our community programming through social media!
