"All About Jazz" called Fay Claassen 's "Two Portraits of Chet Baker" one of the top vocal recordings of 2006.
Claassen returns to European Jazz Stage with pianist Marc van Roon, bringing new and beautiful arrangements of some "hidden" standards by Cedar Walton, Abbey Lincoln and Sting. We'll hear "Throw it Away," "If I ever Lose My Faith in You," "Daybreak" and more.
Over four decades, The Danish Radio Big Band has played itself into musical heavyweight class and written its way into the annals of international jazz. European Jazz Stage recorded the band in a special concert with Eivør Pålsdóttir, the charismatic singer from the Faroe Islands. Daniel Frankl hosts.
