ABBA in Concert

Wembley Arena in London

Aired Thursday, August 21, at 8:00 p.m. on CPTV

ABBA in Concert captures an unforgettable concert by the group as they performed at London's Wembley Arena in November of 1979. ABBA stunned their audiences with a dazzling show and delivered one hit after another. On stage the electricity of the group ignited the crowd as songs like "Chiquitita," "Dancing Queen" and "Summer Night City" brought the fans to their feet. Their performance was nothing short of mesmerizing. This concert transports ABBA fans back to the 70's to experience all-time favorites such as "Vouley-Vous" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You" and "I Have a Dream." In this legendary concert, these talented artists were at their dynamic best and provided an evening of music that continues to capture the world's attention and continues to make new fans. ABBA began in 1966 when Bjorn Ulvaeus met Benny Andersson and eventually began a musical relationship that lasted decades. In 1969 they met the two women, Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Fri Lyngstad, who were to become not only their wives but also the other half of ABBA. They became widely known when they won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with "Waterloo." Soon "Waterloo" was Number One on the charts all over Europe and even reached the U.S. Top Ten. It was in 1976 that ABBA firmly established themselves as one of the most popular groups in the world. Classic single releases such as "Dancing Queen" topped the world charts. By 1979 the members of ABBA were megastars and embarked on a major tour of the U.S., Canada and Europe. Song List: Voulez-Vous Chiquitita I Have a Dream Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie!
