WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio to Air Special Holiday Lineup of Programs on Wednesday, December 25
HARTFORD, Conn. (December 23, 2013) –On Wednesday, December 25, WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio will air a special lineup of holiday programming in place of its regularly scheduled programs. This lineup will include a special edition of the popular NPR program Snap Judgment; a holiday episode of American’s Test Kitchen exploring some festive recipes; and a look from BackStory at the history of the holiday season, including how it has evolved into the celebration Americans enjoy today. This lineup kicks off at 9 a.m. on WNPR.
9 a.m. Snap Judgement Holiday Special
'Tis the season to chronicle one’s good fortune. In this special, Snap Judgment looks back at some of the stories that the series is especially thankful to have shared – stories of food, wine and the most unlikely of circumstances.
1 p.m. BackStory’s Naughty & Nice: A History of the Holiday Season
The History Guys trace the evolution of Christmas from a rowdy festival of misbehavior (a festival that was banned in America by the Puritans) to the domestic, child-centered holiday that it is today.
3 p.m. America’s Test Kitchen Holiday Special
The America’s Test Kitchen gang talks to some of their favorite guests about their happiest holiday memories. They will taste wine with expert Stephen Meuse; find out what's hot and what's not in the world of kitchen gadgets; travel back in time to discover the origins of New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding; and learn how to make Fallen Chocolate Cake.
