Connecticut First – Powered by WNPR News – to Premiere on CPTV in January 2014
New Weeknight News Segment to Highlight Connecticut Stories
Premieres Monday, January 6 at 6:56 p.m. on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV)
Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) is introducing Connecticut First, a new television news segment featuring the most important news stories of the day from WNPR News. Airing weeknights, Monday through Friday, beginning January 6, 2014, Connecticut First will air at 6:56 p.m. following PBS’ Nightly Business Report and preceding PBS NewsHour.
“Connecticut and the events impacting its residents always come first at CPTV,” said Jim Cutie, content director for the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN), parent company of CPTV. “That’s why CPTV has launched a new statewide headline source called Connecticut First featuring WNPR News. For the first time, the WNPR and CPTV news teams are working together to provide a first-hand look at the news and information impacting the state and its residents.”
Hosted by Connecticut's own Teri McCready, Connecticut First will offer viewers an update on the day’s news and events happening in Connecticut and provide additional information from WNPR News at WNPR.org.
Host Teri McCready began her broadcasting career at WSTC/WNLK in Norwalk, Connecticut. Following stints at WGCH in Greenwich, she worked at WVIP in Westchester and Bloomberg News in New York City. Most recently, McCready was a reporter at WSHU public radio in Fairfield. She resides in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Connecticut First is sponsored by Companions & Homemakers.
