HARTFORD, Conn. – To the delight of auto-enthusiasts everywhere, Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) will air episodes of Automobiles De Luxe on Sunday, May 3 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 at 6 p.m., including one all-new premiere episode.
Automobiles De Luxe is a CPTV five-part series. From the latest in exotic cars to the charm and elegance of the classics, the show features a myriad of topics targeted at the automotive industry’s most elite and elusive market segments. Yet it is tantalizingly appealing to the broader audience of wannabes, too.
The producer, writer and host of Automobiles De Luxe is Gunnar Heinrich. Having established a presence with the Automobiles De Luxe daily online publication (established in 2006 and named one of five luxury sites “worth looking into” by US News & World Report), Gunnar has forged ties with car manufacturers and car clubs. He now brings his experience as an automotive journalist and an avid consumer to the Automobiles De Luxe TV series. With his keen sense of humor, strong knowledge of cars and unique way of delivering information, Gunnar gives viewers a brand new feel for their favorite rides.
On Sunday, May 3, CPTV will air a special encore presentation of Automobiles Deluxe’s first episode. In this episode, Gunnar follows a group of BMW owners as they race through the Connecticut River Valley. He also interviews Dr. Ulrich Bez (the CEO of Aston Martin), visits a Saab-sponsored fashion show and more.
Tune in on Sunday, May 10 for the premiere of an all-new second episode of Automobiles De Luxe. This time Gunnar tests two BMW convertibles, interviews Cadillac’s “top brass” about the state of the auto industry and explores New York’s Saratoga Auto Museum. He even visits Connecticut’s Lime Rock Race Track to witness a rollicking race.
