Republican Presidential candidate, John McCain is holding a fundraiser Wednesday night in Greenwich.
Connecticut has long been known as "a political ATM" for congressional and Presidential candidates especially the Gold Coast of Greenwich, New Canaan, Westport, and Darien.
Massie Ritsch with the Center for Responsive Politics in Washington D.C. says while John McCain may hold several fundraisers in this part of the state, his efforts will not be very fruitful.
"I wouldn't expect Connecticut to produce an outpouring of money for a Republican though considering that at this point about eighty percent of the money coming out of there is going to the remaining Democratic candidates."
Ritsch says through the end of February, $15 million dollars has been raised in Connecticut for presidential candidates. Former Presidential hopeful, Chris Dodd raised nearly $3.1 million.
Barack Obama is second on the list with $3 million followed by Hillary Clinton with $2.3 million
John McCain has only raised about $1.4 million dollars from Connecticut. He still trails former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani by some $400,000. Giuliani dropped out of the race at the end of January.
