The theme for this year's gathering is entitled "Global Crisis: Islamic Solution."

Dr. Zahid Bukari is the president of the Islamic Circle of North America, or ICNA. He says discussions will address the Islamic perspective on today's global financial crisis.

The three-day event will also include seminars and interactive workshops on topics ranging from Parenting and Family Issues, to Civil Rights.

Malika Rushdan is the Director of Community Development for ICNA's Relief Division in New York City, and also runs a women's shelter. Rushdan says the growing Muslim Community shares the same fears as their fellow Americans.

"Concerns about unemployment, poverty and hunger, descent affordable housing, and quality affordable healthcare, concerns about the quality of our public schools and tuition costs for our children in the future, safe neighborhoods and safe streets, commonly expressed by all."

One of the guest speakers will be Dr. Dalia Mogahed, Executive Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies. Mogahed was recently appointed by President Obama as advisor on Muslim Affairs. She'll be part of a discussion about Muslims in public schools.
