CT Sets its Sights on Round Two of Race to the Top

Earlier this month, Connecticut learned that it was not a finalist in President Obama's Race to the Top education initiative, a multi-billion dollar program for states who were willing to reform their education system.  Sixteen states, including neighboring Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island are the finalists for the first round of grants, now Connecticut has set its sights on the second round of grants. Yesterday, the lesgislature's Education Committee held a public hearing on three bills aimed at making CT more competative for Race to the Top.  Joining us by phone is the CT Mirror's education reporter, Robert Frahm.
