Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc. Offers Broadcast Journalism Scholarship in Honor of the 30th Anniversary of WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio

HARTFORD, Conn. (March 25, 2008) – To honor the 30th anniversary of WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio, Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc. is offering a $1,000 scholarship to students who pursue studies in the field of broadcast journalism. The scholarship will provide opportunities to students entering their junior or senior year at a four-year accredited college, who plan to pursue a career in broadcasting. The one-year scholarship is non-renewable, but students may reapply for the scholarship each year.“The 2008 WNPR Scholarship is being awarded to honor the radio station’s 30th anniversary, as well as the organization’s groundbreaking contributions to the field of broadcast journalism,” says Jerry Franklin, President and CEO, Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student whose grades, volunteer service, extracurricular activities, adult recommendations, and 300-word essay separate them from the others.
Application information is available at http://www.cpbn.org, and the completed application along with supporting documentation must be postmarked by June 1, 2008.
